180 organizations rehearse response to drought and heatwave

During the three-day LÜKEX exercise, 180 federal and state agencies, aid organizations and critical infrastructure operators rehearsed disaster response together. The scenario envisioned years of drought and temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius. The exercise played out entirely on the participating organizations’ screens across Germany.

An initial review is planned for the first quarter of 2027, and the BBK will compile broader findings by the third quarter.
