NRW says it is first in Germany to use its own AI system to analyze digital evidence

NRW’s finance administration says it is using its own AI system to analyze digital evidence for the first time in Germany.

In a pilot case, investigators identified 1,000 relevant pages among 20 million files in a few weeks; manual review would have taken years.

In other tests, investigators reportedly found around 60% more relevant documents than with previous methods.

The AI does not replace investigators: people still have to review, assess and decide.
